Unit 1
Students learn a variety of Black
and White film techniques to record observations and ideas in
their own photographs, creating a folio of set techniques in
relation to their chosen theme. The students also examine
photographers and their working styles.
Unit 2
Students learn a variety of
Digital Camera techniques and use Adobe Photoshop to create a
folio on a theme of their choice. This is an excellent
opportunity to learn about folio creation in preparation for
Units 3 & 4. The students analyse photographs using the art
element and principles.
Unit 3
Students start the exploration
phase of their folio, writing a direction statement and
exploring as many possible technique and skills whilst
photographing their theme. They will also look at two
photographers and their photographs.
Unit 4
Students complete a series of
final photographs to complete their folio. They also study
the role of art galleries and how they operate.
